the venue

Constructed in 1745, Briars Hall Hotel is a country manor house situated in 5 acres of mature gardens and woodland. Briars Hall has 25 rooms on site that, if required, we can contact the venue about; alternatively, Ormskirk and the surrounding areas has plenty of places to stay to soak up the luxurious countryside… and hopefully good weather!

our very own love story

we first met – online like everyone else these days!

Emily asked Matt for a date first so off we went to Remedy on Lord Street in Southport, which is no longer there… at least our relationship has lasted longer.

We Fell in Love Instantly – Well Almost!

The connection was definitely almost instant; we had so much in common and talked for hours and hours about all and everything.

We Brought PJ to the UK.

Together we flew Matt’s childhood cat PJ to the UK, he became our first addition to the family.

We Moved In.

A big step but one that we are so grateful we had the opportunity to do, this really solidified our whole relationship.

Enter Mielie, the second baby.

We then adopted Mielie, our second addition to the family and a new best friend for PJ.

Matt Proposed.

Whilst in South Africa for the second time (as a holiday), Matt proposed to Emily with the help of a few friends, a task that was no mean feat in keeping a secret.

Unless mentioned on the invite or discussed directly with the bride and groom, then no other children are allowed.

As we’ve lived together for a year or two, we really don’t need anything new. If you were thinking of getting us a small gift, some money for our future wouldn’t go amiss.’

We will absolutely have vegetarian options, and if you require something more specific, we will have a section in the RSVP for you to let us know.

Not specifically, those in the bridal party will have specifics; however, for all guests, dress up and be ready to have fun!
